Sarah Milder, MPH, Managing Partner

Sarah manages quantitative research projects, consults on public health and health indices development projects, and provides data analysis and interpretation. She has over 15 years of experience analyzing public health data, managing projects, and writing and developing reports. Prior to joining Arundel Metrics, Sarah conducted infectious disease surveillance as an infectious disease epidemiologist at the Minnesota Department of Health. She had a previous career in criminal justice. She received an MPH in Maternal and Child Health Epidemiology from the University of Minnesota and a BS in Psychology and Women’s Studies with a Certificate in Criminal Justice from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. When not at work, she enjoys the outdoors, live music, tasty food, and spending time with her husband, two children and dog.

Kristin Shaw, MPH, Managing Partner

Kristin is an epidemiologist with over a decade of experience working in public health. In her current role, she plans and conducts data analysis projects, and interprets data for media messaging to the public and to key stakeholders through press releases, website content, and presentations. Prior to joining Arundel Metrics, Kristin worked in infectious disease epidemiology at the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH), where she gained expertise in infection prevention and antibiotic resistance. She began her career at MDH in 2010 as a CDC/CSTE Applied Epidemiology Fellow, a two-year program in which she gained valuable surveillance and infection control experience in healthcare-associated infections. She received an MPH in Epidemiology from the University of Minnesota and a BA in Biology from Macalester College. Outside of work, Kristin enjoys hiking, swimming, traveling, yoga, and spending time with her husband and two young daughters.

Alexia Málaga, MPH, Epidemiologist & Project Manager

Alexia is an epidemiologist who is passionate about chronic disease prevention and health equity. Her commitment to public health is reflected in her professional experiences and academic training in epidemiological methods, data analysis and interpretation, grant and report writing, and working with culturally diverse populations. As an alumna of Macalester College and the University of Minnesota School of Public Health, Alexia has made Minnesota her home where some of her favorite hobbies include backpacking and biking.

Natasha Kataeva, MPH, Epidemiologist & Intern Manager

Natasha is an epidemiologist with an array of research interests including cancer epidemiology, mental health, and the spread of misinformation. As a first-generation immigrant, Natasha is especially passionate about improving health outcomes for members of minority populations. Having a love of the biological sciences and a desire to help those in need, Natasha was drawn to the field of Public Health and earned an MPH in Epidemiology from University of Minnesota School of Public Health. In her spare time, Natasha enjoys rock climbing, cycling, listening to music, and playing video games.

Aaron Clark, Epidemiologist, Data Efficiency & Web Support, IT

Aaron is an epidemiologist who works on developing health indices, organizing and processing datasets efficiently, and performing data analysis. He was drawn to the field of public health by a desire to use data to alleviate suffering and is interested in health equity, geospatial components of health, and leveraging correlated data. He is working on his MPH in Epidemiology through the University of Minnesota School of Public Health and has a background in information technology and biochemistry.

Rivers Laraque-Ho, Copy Editor & Project Assistant

Rivers is Arundel Metrics' resident copyeditor and layman reader. They are passionate about punctuation and enjoy working across genres and disciplines in the name of accessible language, open communication, and shared knowledge. Their favorite part of speech is the verb. They received their AA degree from Bard High School Early College in 2014, and a BA in Creative Writing and Critical Race & Gender Studies from Hampshire College in 2018. Since then, they have been spotted moonlighting as an actor, teacher, mapmaker, and published author. They spend their free time doing crossword puzzles and hanging out with their dog Shoelace.

Samantha Sanvik, MPH, Epidemiologist

Samantha is an epidemiologist with numerous research interests, especially health equity, mental health, and maternal and child health outcomes. Her commitment to public health is reflected in her professional experiences and academic training in epidemiological methods and data analysis. She holds an MPH in Epidemiology from the University of Minnesota School of Public Health and has applied her skills in various public health settings. When not working, Samantha loves to bike outside, go hiking, and attend Minnesota sporting events.
